Late in 2011, I was hired by Petrified Forest National Park to provide illustrations for new interpretive signage for the 600 year old archaeological site of Puerco Pueblo. In 2012, I worked with park rangers and archaeologists to reconstruct daily life in the pueblo’s plaza as well as a birds-eye view of how the pueblo may have looked in the fourteenth century.

Another interesting archaeological reconstruction project, this time for archaeologist Deni J. Seymour’s forthcoming book about the Sobaipuri O’odham people of Southern Arizona. This is a partial reconstruction of an actual site along the San Pedro river, around 1770, looking East across the river toward the Dragoon Mountains.

Here is another project for an outdoor educational exhibit for which I provided illustrations of a reconstructed archaeological site, this time in Chaco Canyon.

The main reason for my trip to Brazil this summer was to attend the 2009 IFRAO Global Rock Art Congress. I gave a presentation on two projects for which I was commissioned to produce artwork, both involving outdoor educational exhibits at rock art sites. The talk I gave was about the preservation aspect of my work, but here, I’m going to go into detail about the art itself. I’ve just returned from Brazil after attending the 2009 IFRAO International Rock Art Congress in São Raimundo Nonato, Piaui. My wife and I had countless adventures and made many new friends.
